Holiday Walk for Hope

December 1, 2020

The Good Giving Challenge is a week-long online giving challenge for non-profits in the Bluegrass region. Gifts made on the KyUMH profile between December 1 - 7 may be matched!

For this year’s Good Giving Challenge, KyUMH is encouraging its supporters to participate in a Holiday Walk/Run for Hope.

The Holiday Walk/Run for Hope is an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for children who have been abused and neglected. Because of you, last year, KyUMH served 954 children and families throughout all its programs. We are so appreciative of your support!

The theme for the Holiday Walk for Hope is the number “150,” as KyUMH is counting down to its 150th year of service in the year 2021.

Participants in the walk/run are encouraged to get creative in incorporating 150 into their challenge. This may look like committing to walk/run 1.50 miles or for an hour and a half, etc. during Dec. 1-7.

Donations will primarily be raised through peer-to-peer fundraising. The goal of peer-to-peer fundraising is to invite friends and family to donate on your cause’s behalf. By taking part in the Holiday Walk/Run for Hope, each participant can set their own fundraising page and goals.

Participants can create a fundraising page through the Good Giving Challenge KyUMH profile. Donations to each participant's fundraising can be accepted from Dec. 1-7. Fundraising pages can be shared via social media, email, etc. Donations given during Dec. 1-7 have an opportunity to be matched by multiple different organizations. All donations made to fundraising pages count toward matching opportunities. Donations can be given apart from fundraising pages at (bggives.org/kyumh).

When you complete your walk/run, we would love to see your photos! Hashtag #KyUMHHolidayWalk in the caption!

The top three fundraisers will win a prize from KyUMH!
