You helped give Matthew* what he needed most.

Imagine making a mistake as a teenager and not being given a second chance. This could have been Matthew’s reality. But because of supporters like you, Matthew was given that second chance to a brighter future.

Matthew met us through our Home Monitoring program, which keeps kids out of detention and in their families.

You helped gift Matthew the opportunity to stay with his family at home rather than a detention facility. That meant he got to continue to live with his mother and sister.

Matthew and his family were able to receive the personalized care and resources they needed.

He realized that he could do something different with his life and decided to work hard toward his goals.

His teachers saw a big change in his attitude and participation in school. He turned in assignments on time and showed up with a more positive outlook on his education.

“What stuck out to me about Matthew was his maturity in that short amount of time,” says Deon, Matthew’s case manager. “He took the situation he was in and turned it into a positive.”

Today, Matthew is attending high school and working a part-time job. He has expressed that he wants to attend college after he graduates to become a counselor.

There are many young people like Matthew across Kentucky who need a second chance to a brighter future. However, there are some who don’t have access to it. Your gift of a second chance can change everything for a young person.
